The paint-metering systems installed at Ri.Wal Ceramics of Fiorano (MO) and Sant Agostino Ceramics of Ferrara are in effect the initial results of a long period of research completed by Comec of Sassuolo in the latest paint metering technology for the ceramics industry.
Significant investment in technological research, specific training of its technical staff and dedicated communications aimed at potential customers have enabled COMEC to collect a rich wealth of fundamental information for the management of a system that will probably result in a substantial revolution in glaze preparation units throughout the ceramics industry within a short period of time.

It all started in March 1997, the year when Comec’s organised an open house at its Sassuolo premises, aiming to give people from the industry the opportunity to update their knowledge of the new technology. The idea came from the need to bring manufacturer’s into direct contact with a working prototype of COLORMEC, to give them a practical demonstration of the benefits offered by the new system in terms of expenditure, management and strategy: a way to assess all its elements in detail with the aid of specialised technical staff ready to provide clear and full details of the system.

The system shown is the one made for Sant'Agostino Ceramics: thanks to COLORMEC, the customer has considerably increased the production capacity of its production unit, which is now fully automated and easily run by a single operator. Furthermore, the elimination of its stock of sample glazes – which can now be reproduced at any time and in any quantity required – has made it possible to save a significant amount of workspace, with a drastic reduction in processing waste and a considerable improvement in working conditions.
